Privacy Policy

👁 Overview

SubEagle is a local-first bill and subscription tracker. We built it on a simple principle: your spending information belongs to you, not us. The app does not require you to link a bank account, create an account with NaRiSystems, or share any personal financial data with our servers.

This policy explains the narrow, well-defined cases where some data does flow outside your device — specifically, anonymous crash and usage reporting, and the optional Google Drive backup available to Premium subscribers. SubEagle contains no advertising of any kind.

📊 Data We Collect

The table below summarises every category of data involved when you use SubEagle.

We use two lightweight, privacy-first services — Sentry for crash reporting and Aptabase for anonymous usage analytics — described in full in §5. We do not use session-recording tools, advertising-network trackers, or any service that links your activity to your identity.

📱 Local Storage

All subscription entries, categories, reminders, price history, and app preferences are stored exclusively in your device's local storage using Android's standard data APIs. This data:

• Never leaves your device unless you choose to export or back it up.
• Is not accessible to NaRiSystems or any third party.
• Is removed when you uninstall the app or clear app data.

You can export your data at any time in JSON or CSV format from within the app. You own that export — do with it as you wish.

☁️ Optional Google Drive Backup

Premium subscribers can back up their SubEagle data to Google Drive. This feature is:

• Opt-in only — it is off by default and must be explicitly enabled in Settings.
• Stored in your own Google account — backup files are written to your personal Google Drive, in a private app-data folder visible only to you and SubEagle.
• Not accessible to NaRiSystems — we have no access to your Google Drive or its contents at any time.
• Governed by Google's Privacy Policy — once data is on Google Drive, it is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

You can disable Google Drive backup or delete your backup files at any time from the app's Settings screen or directly from Google Drive.

🚫 No Advertising

SubEagle contains no advertising. Earlier versions of the app showed banner ads to free-tier users via Google AdMob. Ads were removed entirely in version 1.1.0 — not hidden behind an upgrade, but removed for everyone, on every tier.

As a result, SubEagle does not:

• Read or transmit your Android Advertising ID
• Serve personalised or non-personalised ads
• Share device or location data with any advertising network
• Include any advertising-network tracking or attribution SDK

If you used an earlier version of SubEagle, any advertising data collected at that time was collected directly by Google under their own privacy policy and was never received or stored by NaRiSystems. You can review and reset your Android Advertising ID at any time under Settings → Google → Ads on your device.

📈 Analytics & Crash Reporting

To keep SubEagle reliable and to understand which features are actually useful, we use two focused, privacy-respecting third-party services. Neither ever receives your subscription names, amounts, due dates, notes, or any other financial information you enter in the app — that data always stays on your device, as described in §3.

Crash reporting — Sentry. If SubEagle crashes or hits an unexpected error, a report is sent to Sentry, an application monitoring service, so we can fix the problem. A crash report typically includes:

• The error message and code location that caused the crash
• Device model, OS version, and app version
• A short trail of the last few actions taken before the crash (e.g. which screen was open)

We do not send your IP address to Sentry, and crash reports never include subscription data, notes, or anything you've typed into a form field.

Usage analytics — Aptabase. We use Aptabase, a privacy-first analytics service, to understand broad usage patterns — for example, how many people complete onboarding, add a subscription, use the export feature, or view the Premium upgrade screen. Aptabase:

• Does not use advertising IDs, device fingerprinting, or cookies
• Does not assign you a persistent user identifier — sessions cannot be linked across days
• Only receives anonymous event names (like "bill added" or "export used"), your general OS/app version, and no personal or financial content

🧒 Children's Privacy

SubEagle is not directed at children under the age of 13 and is designed for adult users managing personal or household finances.

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at narisystems@gmail.com and we will take prompt steps to address it.

⚖️ Your Rights & Choices

Because NaRiSystems does not collect your personal data, most traditional data-subject rights (access, deletion, portability) are automatically satisfied — your data never leaves your device in the first place. Nonetheless, here is what you can do:

• Export your data — use the JSON/CSV export feature in-app at any time, free of charge.
• Delete your data — uninstalling the app or using Android's "Clear Data" option permanently removes all locally stored information.
• Delete your Drive backup — disable the backup feature in Settings or delete the backup folder directly in Google Drive.
• Advertising — nothing to opt out of. SubEagle serves no ads and does not read your advertising identifier (§5).

🔄 Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and post a notice inside the app on the next launch. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Continued use of SubEagle after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. If you disagree with any changes, you can discontinue use of the app at any time.
